Welcome to the North Carolina Theatre for Young People website! If you have come to see any of our productions or participated in any of our classroom drama experiences we thank you. You and your students are the reason we do what we do. Thank you for valuing and supporting theatre and drama experiences for young people. If this is your first encounter with us, welcome!

We hope you join us for events and productions in the future.

We are working to implement programming that better serves your needs and we need your input! Please consider joining our TEACHERS ADVISORY BOARD (TAB). The TAB will meet twice a year - once in the fall and once in the spring. We are seeking individuals interested in providing input for our upcoming seasons of plays, study guide (PLAYguide) materials, and professional development workshops (CEUs). The time commitment is minimal but the relationship lasts a lifetime! Interested? Contact Us!

Participate in a 4 – 12 week residency program with a teaching artist. Residencies are designed to meet the specific needs of the classroom teacher while integrating theatre and drama skills. Programs are available to teachers in grades pre-K – 12. Please contact the NCTYP office at 336-334-4015 to make arrangements for a residency at your institution or e-mail Rachel Briley.

Study guides (NCTYPlayguides) are provided for each of our staged productions. The NCTYPlayguides contain activities, games, and information that prepare students to engage in the theatre experience and make connections to classroom curriculum. North Carolina Standard Course of Study connections are emphasized. NCTYPlayguides will be made available online two weeks prior to the production.
